Are you unsure about tent camping? Do you like the idea of getting away from it all, but don’t know if camping in a tent is for you? If you don’t want to invest in buying a tent just yet and but are keen to experience the joys of the great outdoors, here are a few ideas you could try to ease yourself (or your family) into the camping experience.

Alternatives to Camping in a Tent
  • Static Caravan (many camping sites have static caravans for hire)
  • Campervan hire (all the benefits of a caravan, with the added bonus of being able to drive it wherever you want to go)
  • Camping Pods (kind of like wooden tents, but with proper doors and windows)
  • Shepherds Huts
Glamping Tents, Wigwams, Yurts and Tipis

Yes, technically, these are tents however you don’t need to put them up yourself, and they do provide the camping experience with a bit of added ease and luxury. Just turn up and relax.

You can locate campsites that have static caravans, camping pods, yurts and other alternatives using the resources featured in our post  How to find a (not too wild) place to camp
