30 Days Wild – Day 23 – Clouds by the Sea

On the last day of May, I looked up into a beautiful sky and took some photos of the clouds. I posted them on the 30 Days Wild Facebook page and commented that I’d love to learn more about clouds during June.

The group gave me some great advice about an app from the Cloud Appreciation Society, and also about The Cloud Name Trail fold-out chart published by the Field Studies Council. I acquired both, and my cloud education began.

I’m still very much a beginner, but now I know my cirrus from my cumulus clouds. I was very happy to be able to identify a cumulonimbus on a stormy summer’s day 🙂

I’m now in the habit of looking up and observing the clouds. Even if I can’t always name their type yet, I always appreciate their beauty. Even the grey ones.

Today I watched some lovely formations in the sky by the sea. And admired the gulls soaring overhead.Clouds and gulls
